Three Consecutive Blasts Jolt West Bengal

Kolkata: Sending chills down to the spine of state administration three consecutive explosions rocked West Bengal on Friday. The security establishment has been jolted and panic griped the people with authorities initiating frantic steps to assess the situation.

It was at around noon, when a crude bomb exploded in an abandoned house at Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.

A little after noon and another crude bomb went off in the heart of the city, Cossipore. One person died and three were injured in the minor crude bomb blast. Two others injured are undergoing treatment at the RG Kar Medical College. Bomb Disposal Squad and sniffer dogs are at the spot looking for hidden bombs in the area.

In the evening, another crude bomb blast was reported in Burdwan district. A crude bomb went off on the terrace of a school and three students were injured. All three students have been rushed to the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have begun an investigation into all three cases of explosion.
