BJP Workers Stage Protest As Permission To Land Yogi’s Chopper Rejected

Balurghat: Confusion emerged over Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to Balurghat on Sunday where he is scheduled to give a speech. Prior to that he is supposed to reach Balurghat in a helicopter.

The district BJP leadership also sought permission for the chopper to land at Balurghat airport’s helipad. But the BJP has alleged that the district administration did not give permission. On Saturday night, district BJP president Suvendu Sarkar in a press conference said that they sought permission to set up a helipad at Balurghat airport on January 28 but did not get permission till Saturday night.

On Sunday morning also the permission was not granted and the BJP workers started protesting.

The BJP had also set up a helipad at Balurghat rail maidan and sought permission for Yogi’s chopper to land there. But that was also rejected and the workers started protesting in front of district magistrate’s house.
