Police Stops BJP’s Rally Near Lalbazar


Kolkata: BJP workers on Wednesday engaged face to face with cops near Lal bazar when BJP workers broke barricades and tried to enter Lalbazar premises. Lalbazar turned into a war zone as thousands of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters clashed with police personnel today.

The BJP had given a call for civil disobidience to protest against the Trinamool Congress government’s system. BJP workers, which soon took an ugly turn, resulting in clashes with police.

Many senior BJP leaders, including Rahul Sinha, Dilip Ghosh and Mukul Roy were present at the spot. Dilip Ghosh said that ‘we purified the SP Mukherjee’s statue with Milk bathing’.
Earlier, The CPI(M) top brass, including its general secretary Sitaram Yechury, took out a rally in the city in protest against the pulling down of a statue of communist icon Vladimir Lenin in Tripura.

Dilip Ghosh added that Manik’s Sarkar have failed to maintain law and order in Tripura so this type of incident happened.
