Purulia: Police on Sunday said that the death of BJP worker Dulal Kumar was a case of suicide.
Newly appointed Purulia SP Akash Magharia told reporters that police has received the post mortem report. The PM conducted by a five-member team of medical experts clearly cites the cause of death.
“It says due to asphyxia, due to hanging, antemortem and suicidal in nature,” Magharia said. “Further enquiry is on,” he added.
32-year-old Dulal Kumar, who went missing on Friday, was found hanging by a pole in Dabha village of Purulia’s Balarampur. BJP alleged that the ruling-Trinamool Congress was behind the incident.
On Saturday morning, the villagers were taken aback to find Dulal’s body hanging from a high-tension pole, just three and a half feet above the ground, so near the Balarampur-Bagmundi Road.
Taking to Twitter, BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said that Dulal’s murder is quite similar to the lines with that of Trilochan Mahato, a BJP activist.
Dulal death comes in the wake of the alleged murder of a 18-year-old BJP worker Trilochan Mahato on Wednesday. Trilochan Mahato was found hanging from a tree near his home in Purulia district.
West Bengal Police said the investigation of Dulal’s murder has been handed over to Crime Investigation Department (CID).
