Kolkata: Ahead of the municipal elections, the state president of BJP Rahul Sinha raised the eminent need of deploying central forces at the time of elections. Rahul said that he would demand for the central force personnels atleast ten days prior to the election date to maintain law and order at the time and spot of the election.
The state BJP has also formed a five membered committee which would meet the state election commissioner on Thursday, said Rahul Sinha. The committee would mainly raise the issue of stationing the central forces at the election booths so that there arises no unwanted situation at the time of voting. They would also request the commissioner to bring in the forces within the state atleast ten days prior to the election.
Apart from the aforesaid points, Rahul went on to say that the rulling party is spreading violence at the time of campaigning and the police are even on their side. Sinha claims if only the keepers of law and order had worked 50 per cent impartially, there would have been a peaceful atmosphere in the sensitive political areas of West Bengal.
