BJP Stages Protest Statewide Over Attack On Dilip’s Convoy


Howrah, Berhampore: The BJP workers resorted to protests state-wide on Tuesday over
the attack on state BJP president Dilip Ghosh at East Midnapore’s Kanthi on Monday.

The BJP party workers blocked Netaji Subhash road’s Khurut crossing in Howrah’s
Byatra. The protest was held under the leadership of general secretary of central
howrah number 2 mondal Shivshankar Sadhukha (Babusona). The protest was on for
almost half an hour. The Byatra police later came and called-off the protest.

Traffic was completely disrupted. Protesting workers laid down on the roads and
raised slogans. They then burnt effigies of chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The BJP
also organised protest programme at Howrah’s different blocks.

At almost the same time, the BJP staged protests at the Murshidabad national
highway. The NH34 at Berhampore’s Gijar crossing was blocked for almost an hour,
