Kolkata: BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh has been injured during a protest rally in West Bengal’s Barasat area as police lathicharged a protest rally held by the party as part of its civil disobedience movement in the state. Singh has been rushed to a hospital and is under treatment.
On the other hand BJP affairs-in-charge of West Bengal Kailash Vijaybargiya and state BJP president Dilip Ghosh have been arrested in Nadia.
As per reports, BJP workers clashed with police who barricaded and prevented the rally from marching on Thursday. Protesters accused the police of baton charging at them without any provocation. Clashes also broke out between police and BJP supporters at Krishnanagar.
Yesterday many BJP workers suffered injuries and Roopa Ganguly has been arrested during protest march by the party held in Asansol, salt Lake and Baruipur.
