BJP MLA killed in train accident

Bengaluru: Seven people including a BJP MLA have been killed in a train accident which occurred in between Rangepalli and Penukonda railway station in Andhra Pradesh. The train collided with a truck filled with granite stones due to which four bogies of the train were derailed.

BJP MLA Vekatesh Nayak, who was travelling from Raichur was killed in the accident along with six other people.

According to the railways, the was no indication mark in the truck and no signal was given due to which the accident occurred near Crossing no 77. The injured passengers were immediately shifted to local hospitals and their train fares were also returned.
