Guwahati: A BJP Tinsukia Zila Parishad’s Vice President Ratnaswer Moran’s son has been kidnapped in Assam by the terror group United Liberation Front of Asom or ULFA, which has asked for a one crore ransom.
Ratnaswer Moran’s son Kuldeep was kidnapped by ULFA on August 1, say the police. Today, ULFA released a video demanding ransom from the politician. Eastern command of ULFA abducted Kuldeep Moran; This is first time ULFA is releasing a ransom video of this kind: Tinsukhia SP to CNN-News18.
Ratnaswer Moran’s son Kuldeep was kidnapped by ULFA from Arunachal Pradesh on August 1, say the police. Kuldeep Moran, in a green T-shirt, is kneeling down and is surrounded by five masked men armed with assault rifles as he speaks in the video.
“I have become very weak and my health has also deteriorated,” he says. Kidnappings by the ULFA are common in the region but a video is unusual.
Kuldeep begs his parents and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to help free him. The BJP came to power in Assam earlier this year after winning the state election.
