BJP leader’s body found, tension in area


Serampore: Tension spread in Uttarpara area of Hoogly over the after the body of a BJP leader was recovered between Konnagar and Diyara railway stations. The deceased, Nandadulal Thakur was a resident of Uttarpara and was a member of Kanaipur Panchayaat. He also held a good reputation in the area.

The victim’s family alleged that he was abducted at gun point by miscreants on Monday night. The family filed a complaint at Uttarpara Police station. The police and BJP workers searched throughout the night for the victim but couldn’t find him.

On Tuesday morning, when police arrived at Konnagar police outpost they were informed that a body has been recovered from between Konnagar and Diyara railway station. His son identified his body.

It has been known that he was an active BJP worker of the area. Allegations have been leveled against Trinamool Congress for the murder of the BJP leader.
