BJP Delegation Attacked in Cooch Behar


Cooch Behar: A BJP delegation in visiting West Bengal’s Cooch Behar district has been allegedly attacked by members of ruling Trinamool Congress on Sunday near Pundibari area.

Five BJP leaders were injured in the assault. The BJP has criticized the assault and said that a central team of the party will again visit the area on December 18.

As per reports the BJP team headed by Jayprakash Majumdar visited the area to protest the attacks on party workers allegedly orchestrated by TMC after one of their leaders was murdered on November 30 allegedly by BJP workers.

A police complaint has been filed by BJP against Trinamool and party workers held a sit-in demonstration outside Cooch Behar police station. On the other hand Trinamool has junked the allegation and blamed the attack on local people.
