Even as Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala remained tight-lipped on the future of government formation, the state unit of BJP on Tuesday announced that BS Yeddyurappa will be taking oath as the chief minister tomorrow in a tweet.

“The Moment that crores of Kannadigas are awaiting is here. Sri BS Yedyurappa will take oath as chief minister of Karnataka tomorrow morning at 9.00 AM at Raj Bhawan. The movement to build our Suvarna Karnataka has begun. #CMBSY,” the Twitter handle of BJP’s Karnataka unit tweeted.

Today, all eyes were fixed on the Raj Bhawan as suspense grew around which political faction will be invited by governor to form the government in the state.
Yesterday, following the declaration of Karnataka assembly results, BJP emerged as the single largest party with 104 seats in the 224-seat assembly.

However, the saffron party’s dream of forming a government in the southern state was suffered a major setback when Congress, with 78 seats, announced that it is ready to offer support to JD(S), which had secured victory on 37 seats.

The Raj Bhawan in Bengaluru witnessed scenes of hectic activity as elected legislators from all the three main parties converged there to staking claim to form the government in the state.
Amidst the chaos, the Karnataka unit of BJP stirred a major controversy when it announced that its leader, BS Yeddyurappa, will be taking the oath as the next chief minister of Karnataka tomorrow at 9.30 in the morning. The information was tweeted at 8.31 PM.
