The BJP had a programme at Chanditala in Hoogly. State BJP president Dilip Ghosh, national secretary Rahul Sinha and member of National Executive Committee Joy Banerjee were present.

While they were returning, the attack was made. Dilip Ghosh escaped any injury due to the presence of his body guards. Soon after giving his speech at the programme, Rahul Sinha left long time ago. Joy was left and hence had to face the attack.
