Suri: There has been an internal fight over the district president and demand for his removal came from Bijaya Sammilani rally itself.
BJP factional feud now comes out in open and Birbhum zonal observer from BJP party Biswapriya Roy Chowdhury is trying solve it. On Saturday, he tried speaking to both the parties separately.
Chowdhury convened a meeting in the evening at Suri’s Chandni arear’s RSS office where he clearly stated, “We will have to fight against TMC’s torture and not about our party leadership. For this, the structure of the party needs to be made strong. No way, differences of opinion within the party will be tolerated.”
But the clash was still evident in the BJP’s Bijaya Sammilani. Former president of the party Arjun Saha said, “Ramkrishna Babu is narrow minded with which a big party like BJP cannot be practised.” Nalhati’s Anil Singh said, “Being the party’s president, Ramkrishna Babu is doing unlawful business with TMC.”
Bijaya Sammilani’s main organiser, also the party’s general secretary, Subhasis Chowdhury said, “It does not matter to me who stays in the party and who does not. We will have to fight against TMC’s undemocratic ruling of the state. For this we need a united BJP.”
On this, BJP district president Ramkrishna Roy said, “I will welcome the decision if I will have to leave as a result of the increasing power of the party. But those who are speaking about unlawful business, must prove it within 7 days, failing which I will file a case against that political leader.”
Ramkrishna also alleged that a general secretary present in the meeting tried killing him.
The meeting called by BJP was attended by 5 out of 21 members of the district committee. Of the 40 divisions, there were 31 present. Out of 7 morchas, 5 were present.
