Biman hails Prakash’s win over Paresh

Kolkata: After suffering a humiliating defeat in the municipal polls, addressing a press meet on Tuesday Left Front chairman Biman Bose lashed on the Trinamool government.
Taking a jibe at the TMC candidate of ward number 29, Paresh Pal, the left front chairman said that he is good at holding Hilsa fest in his area. In reality Paresh Pal lost to Congress candidate Prakash Upadhyaya. The result at ward nu-29 serves as a huge blow to TMC, feels Basu.
Bose accused the ruling government of unleashing a reign of terror across the state. The electoral victory is not the manifesto of public opinion rather it is a blatant show of political hooliganism.
Citing examples of violence at Midnapore, North 24 Pargana and Hooghly he said the stiff resistance put up by the opposition at Siliguri prevented massive rigging a led Trinamool’s defeat.
The Left Front has captured 15 seats out of the 144 in Kolkata. Basu said that the front has called for a state wide strike on April 30 to protest the poll violence.
