Biman demands the resignation of State EC

Siliguri: Terming the state election commission as spineless, Left Front Chairman Biman Bose on Sunday demanded the resignation of State election Commissioner Susanta Ranjan Upadhay. Alleging violence and rigging in the polling booths of Kolkata during the elections on April 18, he said, “The election commissioner has failed to conduct the elections peacefully. How can elections be conducted with just three companies of central forces? If this is the condition then what is the use of the election commission? Vote can be conducted by the government.

Not only the commissioner, taking on the Trinamool Congress he said that the party doesn’t have any certain policy or ideology. Many Left front candidates are being forced to withdraw their candidature. Candidates are not being allowed to enter the polling booths.

He said the left supporters will go to cast their votes on 25 April and has urged the administration to work impartially during the elections.
