Big B plans way forward for ‘mission’ Hepatitis B


Mumbai: Bollywood’s legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan has been roped for a campaign against the infectious disease caused by Hepatitis B virus (HVB).

Big B will meet authorities to plan a way ahead for spreading awareness about the disease. The 72-year old actor took this matter to the micro-blogging site Face book and commented, ‘The start of another mission for the awareness for Hepatitis B…Meeting authorities to take this forward like Tb & Polio.’ The star is very concerned about the campaign and flew to the Delhi.

Previously the ‘Piku’ star has been associated as a Global Ambassador for the initiative for eradicating polio campaign since 2005. However, Big B is showing concern about the Hepatitis B campaign. He even stated,’ Wish to start a campaign on awareness of HB virus. Met some committed doctors and shall strategies.’
