Kolkata: Bengal government breaks its silence on ex-IPS Bharati Ghosh after a week long interval. CID has filed a case under Prevention Of Corruption Act in West Midnapore district court.
According to CID, investigation on extortion case had started before. Recent case have been filed on the charge of owing proportionless property with her earing. CID has requested to the judge of West Midnapore. Reportedly, court has granted the request of CID against Bharati Ghosh.
Apart from Bharati Ghosh, the case have included Sujit Mondal, Chiranjit Ghosh, Rajsekhar Pyne in the list. Several case has detained six police officers on the charge of extortion and misuse of power. But Bharati and Sujit is still out of reach of Poilice. Police has issued a ‘Look Out’ notice against them.
Previously police raided the house of once closest to CM IPS Bharati and rescued 5 cr rupees and bulk of gold. Police has extended their search operation in Delhi, Mumbai and other states as they are not in West Bengal.
According to a CID official, “the rescued amount is just a part of a whole. So much are still behind the lens of CID. But strong information is there. We are investigating on them.”
On the other hand, Pinaki Bhattacharya, law-year of Bharati Ghosh said, “ex-IPS has all the documents and all are legal. Soon the charges of CID will be erased from record list.”
