Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board has issued an advisory directing all the caretakers and members of managing committees to ensure that ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ is chanted in all school and colleges after Independence Day celebrations. The order issued on Saturday also warned of “strict action” in case the directive is not complied with.
“Independence Day celebrations are held annually in every school, college and madrassa, which includes hoisting of national flag followed by recital of the national anthem. Ensure that after national anthem those present chant ‘Bhara Mata Ki Jai’ as it is slogan of India’s freedom and goes with Independence Day celebrations,” the advisory issued by Waqf Board reads.Notably, India will celebrate India’s 72nd Independence Day on August 15 with patriotic fervour, during which several programmes will be held across the nation.
The Shia Waqf Board chairman, Waseem Rizvi told ANI, “Shia Waqf Board has issued an order that on August 15, it is necessary to raise slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai after the national anthem in the all programmes to be held on the properties of Waqf Board.”
“Whoever does not follow this order, strict action will be taken against him,” he added.
