‘Bhangi’ Raised Trouble, Complaint Registered Against Salman Khan And Shilpa Shetty


New Delhi: Actor Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty have landed into trouble for making derogatory remarks against a performer while she was dancing.The incident happened on Friday when Salman used the words, ‘bhangi,’ to refer the way she was dancing at a promotional event for his latest flick, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai.’

The FIR was filed at Rajasthan’s Churu district town under Prevention of Atrocities Act and also included section 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

‘Bhangi’ is referred to a group of people belonging to the scheduled caste. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has issued notices to the I&B Ministry and the police chiefs of Delhi and Mumbai over complaints that actors Salman Khan and Shilpa Shetty’s use of derogatory comments.

“The report should have details of action taken under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Prevention of Atrocities Act 2015 and the Rules 2016 thereof,” the letter issued by NCSC director Kausahl Kumar reads.
