Earlier, Unrest returned to Bhangar on Thursday when suspected Trinamul activists allegedly attacked a march organised by those opposed to a central power project with bombs and bullets.

Two of the protesters suffered bullet injuries but could not be taken to hospital for fear of police harassment, the march organisers claimed.

In January this year, two persons had died of alleged bullet injuries after project opponents clashed with police. The protesters claim the 11 acres on which the project, a Power Grid substation, has been built were acquired forcibly around a few years ago at rates far below market prices. The substation aims to improve the power quality in south Bengal, including technology hub Rajarhat.
