Kolkata: A meeting was held on Wednesday at Trinamool Congress Bhawan over the ongoing Bengali serial row. The meeting was attended by actress-turned-MLA Debasree
Roy, Sports Minister Arup Biswas, Information and technology minister Bratya Basu, TMC leader Subrata Bakshi, producer Srikant Mohta, broadcasting minister Indranil Sen and others.
The row started over accusations of working over-time regularly and not getting the rightful pay. A clash between the producers and actors-actresses is on over this issue. Producer forum WATP and artist forum FCTWEI together signed a MoU on July 7. After this, on 18th august, shooting of several serials were stalled.
A meeting between the artist forum and producers was held on last Monday in the technician studio which went unsuccessful. On Wednesday’s press meet, the artists clearly stated that their fight is not against the producers. They said that they are ready to work if the producers follow the previous signed MoU and call the artists.
On the other hand, the producers rejected all claims and said that they did not sign any MoU. Producer Rane said, “How are the artists calculating the ten hours of working time which they are speaking of. If the call time is 10 in the morning, many come at 1 in the afternoon. In that case, from which time will the duty hours be counted.”
