Bengal TT players suspended


Pondicherry: A bad day for table tennis in Bengal. Sutirtha Mukherjee, Aishwarya Dey and Priyadarshini Das has been alleged to provide wrong information regarding their ages to the Table Tennis Federation Of India. As a result the three players have been banned from participating in any form of tournament and also has been fined a sum of twenty five thousand rupees each.

Sutirtha was already serving a suspension. Adding insult to injury, the tenure of the suspension of the three players has been extended to January 2016.

It is a move to curb out any form of illegal activities from sports, stated by the TTFI. The organization is likely to fine a sum of fifty thousand if a player is found to provide false age certificates.
