Bengal To Set Up 2 Consumer Circuit Benches

Kolkata: The West Bengal government has decided to set up two circuit benches in Siliguri and Asansol to help redressal of consumers’ grievances.

Replying during the question hour session in the state Assembly here on Tuesday, Consumer Affairs Minister Sadhan Pandey said that the two circuit benches would help consumers staying there and in adjacent areas.

He said that consumer assistance bureau would also be set up in each district. Each bureau would have a lawyer for helping consumers and the department would provide the finance. This initiative has been taken keeping the poor people in mind, he said.
