Kolkata: The city of Joy and West Bengal will receive moderate showers even as the depression situated over Bengal but it will not affect the state, according to Alipore Met offices.
It will continue to rain intermittently over the next forty eight hours, but the chances of heavy showers are low, said the local met office. A depression was formed already over Odisha on Wednesday.
Due to this depression, Gangectic West Bengal affected little bit. As a result, the heavy showers were missing from west Bengal in the middle week of August. Kolkata witnessed heavy showers on the end month of the July.
Earlier, the weather specialists were saying that depression can devastate the coastal areas. Thunderstorm and heavy rain predicted by the met office which will include South 24 Pargana, East and West Midnapore, Purulia and Bankura.
On Thursday, Kolkata’s temperature is 31.6 degree and the minimum temperature is 27.4, which is one degree above more than normal. If there is no rain then the temperature of Kolkata will be increased.
