Bengal Junior Footballer Commits Suicide

Barrackpore: A junior footballer who recently got the opportunity to join the Bengal team, allegedly committed suicide for being scolded by his mother. Arpan Sarkar (15) was the footballer of United Sporting’s Under-15 team. He was also a class 11 student of the Shyamnagar Kanti Chandra School. The incident took place at Shyamnagar’s Neheru market area.

As per the locals, Arpan’s mother scolded him on Monday regarding his studies. After that she went to the local grocery shop. It is being alleged that at that time, not being able to bear his mother’s scolding, he hung himself. Arman’s mother returned home to witness her son hanging. She started screaming hearing which the neighbours ran to her house.

Arpan’s father was immediately informed. The police was informed too who rushed to the spot and recovered the body and have sent it for post-mortem at the Barrackpore morgue. The Jagaddal police have started an investigation into the case.

According to Arpan’s family, he also got the opportunity to plan in the National Junior team. He had his practice match from Monday for the i-league.
