Kolkata: In an initiative to highlight the micro industry sector, the Bengal Government has decided to set up hubs for local food products like Batasha and Nakuldana.
The Bengal Government is all set to create newer avenues for the food industries which lie mostly in the micro industry sector. While creating a framework for popularization and export of the heritage sweet dishes like the Langcha of Shaktigarh and Mihidana and Sitabhog of Bardhaman, to the rest of the world, Mishi Hubs have come into being.
On the same line, popular Bengali items like Batasha, Nokuldana, Morobba and Bori, which are daily used in Bengal households, will now find a common address as the makers of these items will be brought under one roof. The Bengal Government will be helping the makers of these items by providing technical support and marketing strategies.
Thousands of families all over Bengal earn living by making items like Batasha, Nokuldana, Norobba and Bori. These items also have huge demand in other states as well. The lack of marketing has left the people connected to these businesses in a poor state and this is where the Government has decided to step up. The Government is now deciding upon the place where the hub will be set up.
