Bengal Govt Opens Fair Price Fish Shops

Kolkata: After the huge success of the fair price medicine stores, the Bengal Government has now opened fair price fish shops. With the eternal demand for fish among Bengalis and the fluctuating prices of the non-vegetarian staple, these outlets are expected to be another major success.

Favourites like hilsa, bhetki, pabda, prawns, among other varieties, are available at the shops. The fish here are both fresh and reasonably priced. On an average, they are Rs 30 to 40 less per kg than the market prices.
