Berhampore: In an effort to extend their helping hand for the Kerala flood affected victims, the West Bengal Congress camp stepped into the streets with donation boxes to raise money in Berhampore.
Bengal Congress supremo Adhir Chowdhury said that there is a huge similarity in the culture, food habits of Bengal and Kerala people. Hence, he said that, “So it is our responsibility to stand by them in times of distress. We have decided few places where we will be present to collect money.”
Kerala flood is the century’s shocking calamity so far in India. All most 357 people have lost their lives. Approximately twenty thousand people have been affected during the flood situation.
Chowhury added that the sole aim of their initiative is to spread the need of the situation to the local people, so that they can contribute as much as they can. Many people are waiting for financial help to restart a normal life.
