Bengal Bandh: Unprecedented Security Cover Around Nabanna


Kolkata: The West Bengal police has deployed a top cop at every major sensitive point. The security has been tightened across state as the TMC government has warned of strict action against anyone trying to disrupt normal life. Extra buses, trams ran to the streets. Additional police forces have also been deployed.

This is the first time that a drone is being used for surveillance in Nabanna. The drone was flown to investigate the situation around there. Nabbana was never used drone for surveillance.

BJP called a 12-hour Bandh on Wednesday. This additional arrangement has included the issue of ensuring security of Nabanna especially. The entire Nabanna has been wrapped in security cover.

The train services have taken a massive hit in several parts of West Bengal. Services came to a total standstill at all major stations in North 24 Parganas district meanwhile local train services in Kolkata were also hit.

Buses in the district have been vandalized. The bus has been set on fire at the Brabourne Road in Kolkata. Although the state will already take action against culprits Transport minister Shuvendu Adhikari and Partha Chattopadhyay have already said.

Reports of minor clashes and protests came from city’s suburbs and other parts of the state surfaced. Trinamool Congress general secretary Partha Chattopadhyay has termed BJP’s Bandh as ‘flop’.
