BCCI plays the villain in Virat-Anushka’s love affair

Mumbai:India vice-captain Virat Kohli will not get to stay together with his girlfriend Anushka Sharma in the same hotel during the upcoming 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

An official from the BCCI said, “This rule of not allowing wives and girlfriends was always there in the past. In a big tournament like the World Cup, the cricketers should stay away from distractions.” Another official said, “You can’t stop them from visiting Australia if they want to be a part of the euphoria, can you? The board won’t have any problem as long as the players are kept away from family matters during the tournament.”

India is set to defend its world title in the upcoming mega-tournament to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Kohli, a key player and India’s best batsman will be an important player if India has to successfully defend its title this year and win the ICC World Cup for the third time.
