Kolkata: Former renowned footballer Josh Ramirez Barreto is on the move to acquire AFC ‘C’ license which is mandatory for coaching any big and popular team.
The acquiring of AFC ‘C’ licence is needed, else one’s situation would be like Subhata Bhattacharya and Subhash Bhowmick. After retiring from football, he did not return back to Brazil. He set up an academy at Goa with his co-citizen Beto. Josh Ramirez Barreto, at present, is associated with the coaching at Mumbai’s IMG Reliance Academy.
Barreto is now set to appear for an exam in order to acquire the AFC ‘C’ license. A coaching course has begun at the Kanchenjunga Stadium in Siliguri. As per sources, the course would end at 1st August.
Barreto said, “A license is mandatory for coaching any kind of football team. That is why I am doing the course. I would opt for the ‘B’ and ‘A’ license in future, too.”
