Barrackpore Takes Initiative To Make Tobacco Free Zone


Barrackpore: Police Commissionerate Of Barrackpore of North 24 Pargana wants to turn the city to a ‘Tobacco Free Zone’. The sub-urb has witnessed many transformation as it stands older. The authority took an strict role to avoid the sell of drugs or tobacco related product within 100 meter range from school and colleges.

The prime objective of the step is to keep away the students from any kind of tobacco addiction. Barrackpore police commissioner Rajesh Kumar Singh firmly said, “Anyway selling of tobacco has to get avoided in the locality. Series of law are there in this regard but we wants to save the generation from being affected. Any crowded locality and smoking while driving has been prohibited.”

As a part of awareness program, the authority have organised a rally along with the students to enhance awareness among the students. The rally took place from Barrackpore police line to Sukanta Sadan. Many important personalities of district administration were present in the program.
