Barcelona: Real Madrid capitalised on Barcelona’s poor finishing and the Catalans had to settle with a 1-1 draw in the first Clasico of the season on Saturday.
Hosts took the lead with goal by Luis Suarez after a cross by Neymar in the 53rd minute of the game. However, a late goal from Sergio Ramos helped the table toppers earn one point. Ramos charged in to head Luka Modric’s free kick past Barca’s goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who got a hand on the ball but couldn’t keep it out.
The draw means Zinedine Zidane’s side will maintain their six points gap at the top of the table.
Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta, who missed six weeks of action due to injury, was included in the squad and came on in the 60th minute. Madrid also extended its unbeaten streak to 33 consecutive matches.
