Kolkata: The Madhyamik results were announced by the West Bengal Madhya Shiksha Parshad on Friday at 9 AM. It was encouraging result in the given strata of the society. Surojit Lohar topped in the examination with 684 marks from Bankura Zilla School. The second spot was secured by Archisman Panigrahi (683 ) from Hooghly and the third place went to Shubhayan Talukder from Balurghat. City boy, Baishna Biswas came first in Kolkata from South Point School. Notably, he ranked 9th in the state. Among the girls, Deboli Sarkar stood first from Pandua and ranked 6th all over the state.
There were 10,27,690 candidates who took the examination. Out of this number, 8,28,791 students passed. in the examination. 79.12 per cent girls passed out of 4,92,818 total female candidates and 86.61 per cent boys passed out of 4,41,366 male candidates. The overall passing percentage stood at 82.66 per cent comapred to last year which was 82.24 per cent. East Midnapore topped amomng the districts with 94.70%. Kolkata was at the second spot (91.41%), followed by S 24 Parganas (90.31%), Howrah (88.15%) N24 Parganas (87.02%), Hooghly (86.94%). The number of girl candidates were more than the number of male candidates, claimed the Parshad. 5,51,860 girls appeared whearas the no. of boys were 4,75,830.There were 25 cases of Reported Against in the examination. Concluding the statement, the WB Madhyamik council wished all the examinees all the very best for their future endeavour and the upcoming life.
