Dhaka: The Bangladesh government has blocked Twitter, Skype and imo in Bangladesh barely three days into unblocking Facebook, reported BD News
The latest clampdown on micro-blogging site Twitter, Skype, and communication app imo came on Sunday night amid the ban on Facebook Messenger, Viber, and WhatsApp.
Several officials with internet and mobile-phone operators said that they received instructions from the BTRC after 9pm on Sunday.
BTRC Chairman Shahjahan Mahmood told bdnews24.com at around 11:15pm “it was nothing new”. “It is the continuation of the previous instruction,” he said.
Facebook’s messaging app, and several other communication apps, including Viber and WhatsApp, were blocked along with the social networking site on Nov 18 after the Supreme Court rejected petitions war criminals Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid to review their death sentences.
