Santiniketan: On the occasion of Durga Puja, the most awaited Bangladesh Bhavana of Visva-Bharati will be open for common people from September 18, Tuesday. Manabendra Mukherjee, Chief coordinator and professor in a press conference announced it on Sunday.
No fees will be charged in these days. Bangladesh Bhavana is mark of India-Bangladesh harmony. The building has been inaugurated on May 25 where both the prime ministers, Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina were present.
Chief observer Manabendra Mukherjee will be present on Tuesday at the time of official opening of the building. But display of valid identity is mandatory.
Those who will come for the the visit in Bangladesh Bhavana, will get the chance to visit the museum and the library. No camera will allowed inside the the building. The entry time will be 10 am to 4 pm. Many work and memoir of world poet Rabindranath Tagore and bangabondhu Mujibur Rahman will be showcased in the museum.
Rabindranath in East Bengal, Bangladesh Liberation War, Language movement like many thing will be highlighted in the museum. Apart from this, the mark of folk culture will also be there. Many sides of golden bengal will be kept inside the Bangladesh Bhavana of Visva-Bharati
The 44,261 square feet two storey building has a museum, auditorium, library, cafeteria and seminar halls. In the interior there is a glass roof so that centrally air-conditioned building can get direct sunlight from above.
The building has been constructed by National Building Construction Corporation, a central government undertaking, on 1,19, 609 square feet of land donated by Visva-Bharati with Rs 35 crore fund provided by the Bangladesh government.
Outside part has been decorated with red and yellow building has decorative tiles on a porch and one has to walk past glass paneled doors. The front walls are also designed with terracotta bricks.
