Bangkok blast carried out by Network: Police

Bangkok: The Bangkok blast of Monday which killed 20 people at Bangkok’s Erawan Shrine on Monday was carried out by a ‘network’, according to Thailand Police Chief.

A sketch of the main suspect has been released, which shows a man in a yellow T-shirt captured by the CCTV cameras leaving a backpack at the spot which is a popular Hindu Shrine. Police later said that two other people seen on the CCTV were also being treated as suspects.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha has described the incident as the worst ever attack on Thailand. The shrine was opened on Wednesday.

According to police, the attack was carried out by more than one person. Police Chief Somyot Poompanmoung said, “He didn’t do it alone for sure. It’s a network.” He also added that Thai citizens were involved in the bombing.
