Bagan rein still to stay with ruling group


Kolkata:  No surprise in Mohun Bagan election. After 10 years on Sunday there was a proper election procedure organized for the National Club of India.  Netaji Indoor Stadium, the venue, saw a stream of ministers, former judges and eminent people from various walks of life apart from sports buffs exercising their democratic rights, an official said, adding that a total of 5,112 votes were polled. But at the end the result goes in the favor of Tutu Basu and his Co. Subrata Bhatttacharya’s and his teammates were failed to create any history in the poll result.

In the football-secretary position Subrata got only 1611 votes. On the other hand the rulling party’s candidate, another ex-Footballer of the club Satyajit Chatterjee bags 3312 votes. At the same time good news comes for Anjan Mitra and Srinjoy Basu too. 3713 votes for Anjan and Srinjoy got 1289 votes. Debasish Dutta happy to win with 3544 votes.
