New Delhi: PV Sindhu lost the summit clash in her second consecutive women’s singles final of the Badminton World Championships. She lost to Spain’s Carolina Marin in 46 minutes.
Hence, Marin got her third World Championships title with a 21-19, 21-10 scoreline. She becomes the only woman to wear the crown three times, while Sindhu had to settle for a silver medal second year in a row.
The Indian world No. 3 had lost the 2017 Worlds final to Japan’s Nozomi Okuhara and
incidentally lost the Rio Olympics final to Marin as well.
