Kolkata: Amitabh Bachchan had lent his voice to the national anthem for his forthcoming film ‘Shamitabh’ and it was shot yesterday at the Jorasanko Thakurbari, the ancestral home of Rabindranath Tagore, who penned the song.
It is not an unknown fact that Big B had sung in his earlier films. But this occasion was indeed very special. It made him feel real proud The R Balki film is slated to be in box office on February 6.
Describing Tagore’s ancestral home as an “amazing monument” Bachchan said, “It’s for the first time I have been there and such an iconic place and I doubt perhaps anybody has ever sang the national anthem there. I feel so proud.”
