Haldia: In the 21st century, minors are still getting married. The tendency to get married in the backward areas is a little more. For this reason, different types of problems are to be found in married women in young age. So they are not married at a younger age.
Where the state government is campaigning to prevent minor marriages across the state through the Kanyashree project. The central government also took ‘Beti Bachao’ program. Now girls are not burdened by parents. Kanyasree has become ‘World Shree’.
In order to promote that, a Child Marriage Awareness camp was organized with students of Haldia Chakdipa High School on Monday. District magistrate Rashmi Kamal, Haldia sub-divisional officer Purnendu Shekhar Naskar, BDO Rajshree Nath of Haldia block, Manas Das, Chairman of District Primary Teachers’ Association and others in the Haldia Chakdabhipa High School, Teachers Incharge, Basudeb Mandal were present in the camp.
On this day the District President told the parents that no students can forced to get married till adulthood. The District Collector has given his oath to the guardians so that their children do not get married at a young age. He also said that currently there are various facilities for girls’ education. By taking that opportunity, the girls stand on their legs through education, and the guardians will arrange their arrangements.
