Awadh-Assam Express Derails, Three Killed


Lucknow: At least three people were killed on Thursday after the Avadh-Assam train collided with a truck at an unmanned level crossing in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district. The train engine derailed right after the collision took place.

Truck driver Raj Kishore, a resident of Masauli in Barabanki, was killed along with two others. A person travelling on the truck was also injured.

The Avadh-Assam Express was approaching Bindaura railway station on way to Lucknow when the accident occurred, police said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, an official told.
