Kolkata: Noted author Shaoli Mitra has left her post from the Bengal Academy. She decided to resign because she was facing some problems in her work.
Her decision of stepping down from her post was due to the problem that she was facing in her work in the present situation. According to the sources, earlier she has also sent letter to the chief minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the issues but there was no response from the government.
Although there is some other reason behind her resignation. Shaoli’s conflict was increasing with the small publishers surrounding the ‘Little Magazine Fair’ that is going to be held soon.
She wanted ‘Little Magazine Fair’ to held in Rabindra Okakura Bhavan in Saltlake and not in Nandan. But many little magazine publishers started protesting against this. Their point was, a separate fair to be organized in Nandan as a symbolic protest on the first day of the fair on January 11. The matter have so far been made complex that it created trouble surrounding the president of the Bangla Academy.But Shaoli Mitra remains stable at that time. Later the news of her resignation from her post came to light.
