Cairo: A journalist named Peter Greste, who was arrested from a hotel in Cairo since December 2013, has been released by the Egyptian authorities. Greste headed for his country straight after being released from the prison.
However, the award-winning journalist feels that his release does not make sense until his fellow journalists who are also captured by the Egyptian police are set free.
Baher Mohammed and Mohammed Fahmy are still imprisoned on the charges of spreading false news and supporting the blacklisted ‘Muslim Brotherhood Moment’.
Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said Greste, was reported to be in good health had arrived in Cyprus and on his way to Australia.
