Canberra: The Australian Government has announced that it will provide shelter to refugees from the war torn Syria. On Saturday thousands of refugees entered Austria from Hungary. Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbot announced that he will allow the refugees to enter Australia.

He took the decision after the picture of Alyan Kurdi lying on the sea beach came to the forefront. Last year 4,000 refugees from Syria and Iraq entered Australia. Abbot said that the number will rise upto 19 thousand by 2018.
