Perth: Australia regained ‘The Ashes’ urn on Monday after beating England by innings and 4 runs in the third test of the series at The WACA. With this win, Aussies took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series wth two matches to go.
Australia needed only 34.3 overs to bowl out England and regain the urn on the final day of the third test on Monday. The play was delayed by three hours due to the wet outfield but it finally resumed much to the relief of Australians.
England must have entertained hopes of a draw after the delay, but they were quickly dashed by firing Josh Hazlewood who took a fifer to bowl out England for 218. England started the day at 132 for 4 but could not handle the swing of Hazlewood and crumbled like a cookie.
Aussie skipper Steven Smith was named Man of the match for his double century in the first innings.
