Assam CM Visit Terror Struck Market, Says Perpetrators Won’t Be Spared


Guwahati: Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday visited Balajan Tinali market where a terror attack had claimed 14 innocent lives about 48 hours ago.

Accompanied by senior police officials including State DGP Mukesh Sahay Mr. Sonowal visited the market and took stock of the damage.

In his brief visit he stopped before a saloon where four persons were killed and stood before the shops which has been gutted in the attack.

” We are committed to protect the people of the State… Whoever is involved in the attack won’t be spared,” Mr. Sonowal said.

He said that NDFB (S) is involved in the attack but investigations are going on.

Mr. Sahay told journalist that a DNA test will be conducted on a slain terrorist to have scientist evidence in the matter. The terrorist has been identified as Manjay Islari of the 16 battalion of NDFB (S).
