Asking Agencies To Bring Anyone, Lashes Out Mamata

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee lashed out at the CBI from the rally at Mayo road on Tuesday.

Mamata said, “CBI is being given responsibility whenever a protest is being made. FIR is also being done. BJP is using the central agency to terrorise the oppositions. They are directing the agency to go and forcefully bring someone. They are working under the central government.” Without naming the agency, she said, “BJP will not remain in future but the names will be there.”

On July 21, Mamata had hit out at CBI and ED saying that no one was afraid of the
central agency. “It does not matter if the CBi or ED is sent again. You cannot do whatever you want because you have an agency in hand. I also have a lot of cases in my hand, but I did not do anything.”

The CBI has recently mailed state police DG Videndra over the Sarada issue. There
it was mentioned that it wanted to interrogate four IPS officers. According to the CBI, names of four including present Kolkata commissioner of police Rajiv Kumar is there in the mail. The other three are KP’s additional commissioner of police Vinit Goyel, Railways IG Tamal Basu and former intelligence chief Pallabkanti Ghosh. All the police officers who were involved in the Sarada investigation will also be questioned.

On the instructions by Mamata Banerjee, soon after the Sarada scam emerged, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the state police was formed. The four IPS officers were among those who were part of the SIT team set up by the state government.
