Thiruvananthapuram: Some relief for the people of the country as the first drops of rain were seen hitting the spice garden of India, Kerala.The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared the onset of southwest monsoon over Kerala on Friday. As per a IMD press release, monsoon rains have further advanced into entire south Arabian Sea, some parts of central Arabian Sea, entire Lakshadweep areas some parts of coastal and south interior Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.”
“Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into some more parts of central Arabian Sea, Karnataka; remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, some parts of Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh, some more parts of central & north Bay of Bengal and southern parts of northeastern states during next 48 hours,” the IMD said.
Kolkata might see the down pour in less than a week. according to the weather forecasts. The city dwellers are ready to welcome the soothing drops and sense a sigh of reliedf from the ongoing heat conditions. The monsoon is expected to hit North India by the end of June.
